How do I download a user manual / operating instructions for my appliance?

WHAT TO DO

You will need the service number from your appliance to obtain this information. This is a 9-digit service number of your appliance, which you’ll find on the rating plate. The rating plate is situated on the inside left of upright appliances and on the outside right of chest freezers.

My fridge smells

POSSIBLE REASONS

All materials and components used in a Liebherr appliance including in the refrigeration system and insulation foam) are hygienically sound and cannot generate unpleasant smells.

If a smell does develop after the appliance has been operational for a while (e.g. a rotten, mouldy or decaying smell), this can only be caused by something not connected with the appliance itself.

A piece of food may have found its way onto the refrigerator compressor via the defrost water drain and evaporation tray. The residual heat given off by the compressor will cause food remnants (e.g. spilt milk) to emit unpleasant smells which can penetrate back into the appliance via the defrost water drain.

Residues of spilt liquids on the glass shelves, in the door seals etc. Food that has gone off, e.g. after a long period of absence.

Residues in the defrost water on the rear wall of the interior (the condensed water on the rear wall may contain substances and micro-organisms that can cause smells to develop).

WHAT TO DO

Clean the interior well with water and a mild detergent. Never use acidic cleaners or solvents. Then clean with clear water.

Pay particular attention to hidden places like behind the seal, behind the door racks and around the defrost water drain and evaporation tray.

As a preventative measure, make sure that the food inside the refrigerator is not in contact with the rear wall; it should not overlap the raised back edge of the shelf.

HELPFUL HINT
Cut up a lemon, place in some water and leave inside the fridge !

There is water / ice inside my fridge

POSSIBLE REASONS
When the evaporator is running, ice forms on the rear wall because the humidity is being extracted from the interior of the appliance. During the idling phase of all appliances with automatic defrosting, the ice defrosts. Drops of water form; most of these run off into the drain channel and are evaporated by the heat from the compressor.

Drops of water on the rear wall are therefore completely normal! Reason: the drain in the middle of the drain channel on the inside rear wall of the appliance is blocked.

WHAT TO DO
Read your manual to learn more about the automatic defrosting. You should unblock the water drain using a blunt instrument (e.g. cotton bud). As a preventative measure, make sure that the food inside the refrigerator is not in contact with the rear wall; it should not overlap the raised back edge of the shelf.

HELPFUL HINT

Ensure that your door sealing tightly and that there is no hot air getting in.

My icemaker is not working

POSSIBLE REASONS
-It may take up to 24 hours from start-up for the first ice cubes to be produced.
-Ice cubes will not be produced unless it is ensured that the plumbed-in water connection supplies water.
-Production will also be stopped if the drawer is not inserted or if it is full.

WHAT TO DO
-Check the waiting time, the water supply and the drawer (filling).
-Make sure you have the Ice bucket pushed in and it is contact with ice maker.
-Ensure the Ice Maker is turned on.

BAD TASTING ICE?

– Ensure that you have the correct hose from your water supply. If you use, i.e. a normal garden hose, this will flavour your ice / water.
– Wash out your ice bucket
– Replace your water filter (filters available from our shop) liebherr@naa.ie

Am I using BioFresh correctly?

BioFresh keeps food fresh for longer.

Liebherr’s BioFresh technology enables you to store your food in specialised compartments that offer the optimum temperature and humidity for fruit and vegetables, fish, meat and dairy products.

The fresher the food, the higher its nutritional value. By storing food items in optimum conditions, Liebherr’s patented BioFresh technology keeps foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals fresh for longer time than conventional refrigerator compartments.

Here are ways to ensure you make the most of this feature:

  • You store fruit and vegetables in the same drawer. It is crucial that all packaging is removed.
  • All meat, fish and cheese are to be stored together but packaging to be kept on.

You can purchase a separate drawer divider to help organise your drawers. Available to purchase in our shop.

WHAT TO DO
Switch on the CoolPlus switch at low room temperatures of +18°C or colder.

When the switch is switched on the interior light is controlled by way of diode.

The interior light is permanently alight with approx. half power. As a result of the dissipated heat, the compressor has to switch on more frequently and for longer so as to maintain the set refrigerator compartment temperature. This prevents the freezer compartment from heating at low room temperatures and ensures the freezer compartment is adequately cooled.

How do I install my Liebherr Integrated appliance?

With All integrated appliances you need to ensure that they have correct ventilation, as per the operating manual.

Watch video here.

Can I have a freestanding appliance surrounded by cabinets?

You need to ensure adequate space is left for ventilation.

x If wall spacers are used, the dimensions increase by 15 mm (see 4.2) .

The dimensions apply for an opening angle of 90 degrees. Spacing angles will vary according to the opening angle.

The appliance can be built into kitchen units. A top cupboard Fig. 21 (2) can be added above the appliance in order to bring the appliance Fig. 21 (1) up to the height of the fitted kitchen units.

The appliance can be installed right next to the kitchen cabinet Fig. 21 (3) . The appliance must stick out by the depth Fig. 21 (B) from the front of the cabinet so that the doors can be opened fully. The appliance may protrude further depending on the depth of the kitchen cabinets and whether wall spacers are used.
